Why would anyone come from the other side of the world to buy a club in the state ours was/is with no budget or intention for a competitive squad? Surely they wouldn't, would they? There must be a plan or what's the point..

Just what I've been asking and thinking. Like you, I expect (well, perhaps nearer hope than expect, or a bit of both) that there is an answer. Of course, there may not, but it seems highly improbable that these 2 guys have done what they have , and got us to the point we are, for no apparent rhyme or reason.

If I had to bet, then I would say they are extremely confident that other people will eventually come in who have access to the sort of funds that wold make sense. because the current situation still makes no sense. At all.

But, if so, then where are they? What are they waiting for? If they exist, they surely know it is critical we hit the ground at least crawling, with a regulation number of limbs, and we are a fair way off even that. So why would they wait?

But, if they exist, a deal must have been done, as I'm simply not prepared to accept that Cha-Low were selected to reboot a skint club in the mire, on the far side of the planet, with no money and no ambition.

So on balance I am awaiting the HUGE news of our multi-millionaire new backers, and the re-signing of Iestyn Harris.

And another thing. If Cha-Low is all there is - then why haven't they done what absolutely any new owners would quickly do, and arranged a "meet the fans" event o at least announced they are planning one?

Don't you think it's weird that here we are a week or two after the takeover, playing and training, and yet we have no word at all from Cha-Low as to what the plan is etc.?

Leeds are dual reg with Fev aren't they? So any short term loans from them wouldn't really make sense.
There's no way we would ever get Lilley on a season long loan because any injuries to Maguire/Burrow and he's pretty much in their 17.
I would happily take either Mullally or Baldwinson on season long loan, but again I can't see it.

What's Evalds up to at Salford now? I'm assuming O' Brien has the 1 shirt? Evalds would be a cracking player to get on loan.

Maybe they can loan us Kopczak ;)

Lilley will likely be behind Sutcliffe in the halves pecking order too this year, since Golding is now going to be at fullback for them. So Lilley's probably 4th choice. I think it sounds unlikely personally, but maybe they would allow the loan as long as there was a recall clause in there should they need him.

Evalds has the number 5 shirt at Salford and now that Vidot has left, I would expect he'll be first choice or at least first backup. Can't see that happening.

Fa, I was with you all the way until the last two words...I H. ;)

Couple of people on the Leeds board seem to think lilley on a season long loan might be happening. As usual, I'll await the announcement....

I think you have to ask why the coach of a super league side would want to send his up-and-coming young players into a scenario where, the likelihood is that they are going to be demoralised on a weekly basis? Whilst I certainly admit it would strengthen us to a fair extent, I'm lost on the benefits to the young players.

I said a while ago that Lilley will never be a SL scrum half as long as I have a hole in my butt. Not the opinion that goes well on Substandard but I maintain that. You would be better off with someone like Liam Finn who has all the experience you need. Lilley will be ok at Championship level but I'm not sure what his key qualities as a SH are yet.

Also, when do we have to announce the squad for sun? Is it this afternoon or tomorrow?

I agree unfortunately 2 weeks a go we didn't have a team, or even a club. Not in a position to start being picky about the ideal players.

Looks like the Lilley signing is happening. Aaron Bower seems to think so. Very good signing IMO

Mikolaj Oledzki & Sam Hallas sound like they're coming over from Leeds. Both props.
