Well they've had enough bloody opportunity before now to invest... so what has changed? I honestly don't believe there is anyone with genuine financial clout ready to take the club on. So yes, mere survival and a slow and gradual rebuild is probably what is needed. Unfortunately that was needed 3 years ago and I'm not sure I have enough interest left in the sport to start the process again.

Of course the RFL* make their own rules - who else would??

*Or rather the member clubs of the RFL.

The rules are all available to see on the internet if you can be bothered to look for them....

Re AE123/Bulls (2014) - the company was dormant until the name change in July, around the same time as the announcement of the move to Dewsbury. No doubt just a coincidence.....

Well said Bully, but what a crying shame. We genuinely find your (understandable) dismay upsetting.

BTW, you've made no reference to the influence of the 'strings' and the adverse role that has been played for yonks by uncalled for external influences. We feel that this 'issue' may well get to the core of the mess that we are in, and we fear that CB and his SCC may not in reality be able to adequately free themselves of such constraints.

Really depressing to see the (lack of) update in League Express this morning

Someone caught up with Nigel Wood at the World 9s and tried to talk to him about the Bulls, only to receive a curt 'brush off'. When questioned about why Andrew Chalmers was in the Executive box with him, he made some mealy-mouthed comment about Chalmers formerly being involved with the New Zealand International team. Then when asked directly if he could comment on the Bulls, his reply was 'No, not really'. A follow-up question about whether he was involved in the consortium got the reply 'We are here to talk about the World Cup'.

Silence speaks volumes eh Nigel? I note that he certainly didn't deny anything, which he could have done if there is no connection. Looks like there's no smoke without fire. And whilst he's demolishing the buffet bar at a (doubtless all-expenses paid) junket, the Bulls fans and players are left wondering what the hell is happening to our club.

Thanks Nigel :SHOOT: :DEPRESSED:

Re: Bulls Takeover : Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:38 am
It all comes back to the land & the lease. Hood & the RFL (Nigel) making a "deal" to protect Odsal from "vultures".
The other way of looking at that is the RFL took the last asset from a financially distressed member club to cover the huge unsecured loan they had foolishly decided to forward to Hood 6months previously. The resulting entanglement & conflict of interest has affected everything since. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

Finally, we find some common ground.

You, and Highlander in the post above, are spot on.

Can we be a bit clearer. Your words, and those of Highlander, articulate a key issue that we are seeking to address, and one which needs once and for all to be addressed for this club to have a cat in hell's chance of moving forward. We reiterate that we have very good reason to believe that CB and his SCC (if they ever get around to taking an interest) will not be free of the constraints that have now plagued us, and held us back, for years.

Yes, the RFL Board, current and past, may deserve to be ..... :SHOOT:

That said, if you shoot the nesteggers you may end up shooting the messenger !

The fact Woody sold Thrum hall resulting in Halifax becoming penniless, destitute and a shadow of their former selves tells us all we needed to know about Wood and his financial meddlings.

Got any robust proof?

And what of the role played in all of this by NW's Wimbledon pal, and ex RFL and SE Chair, Richard Lewis?

Re: Bulls Takeover : Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:00 am
On the face of it I would agree that certain external influences have played against us in our recent financial plight. However, for eons, Odsal has never been an appropriate venue, in this sport, as a basis for running a business on a budget. Not helped in any way by the hapless lease issues which were deemed essential for survival but subsequently has all but destroyed us.It would be crazy, without a wealthy benefactor, that anyone would expect us to prosper as an entity in our own right. The responsibility is solely on us as a Club and having to rely on outside involvement to sustain us was foolhardy.I don't discount any part the RFL have played in all this, but we really have to stand on our own two feet. This we have been unable to do so far. I do agree that as fans we need more clarity as to the puppetry involved in determining Bulls ownership..but this would be irrelevant if we were in any way a going concern with a workable business plan. We have successively lacked credibility and the fans are paying the price yet again.Back to basics is a bit raw for some of us but perfectly understandable, but in the longer term, any Owner will need the co-operation of other Partners in moving forwards in Bradford. Just my view for what it's worth.
