Whilst I agree we need some experience, these are initial 1 month loans, I'm guessing there aren't many quality amd experienced forwards just kicking about waiting to go out on loan before a ball has been kicked, those players I'd expect to come available once the season starts when and if they find themselves out of the regular game day squads for whatever reason. Exactly this. Other clubs aren't as thick as us and sign 46 players. They aren't going to let more experienced players out on loan one week before the season. Clubs generally send younger players out on loan to gain senior first team rugby. As the season progresses and some senior players fall behind an up and coming younger player in the pecking order, then they will be available.

Key word there is 'play'. You can have more than 5 training with squad and hence learning plays etc. You can only pick 5 of them on match day but better to have a bigger pool available to slot in, in event some of the five pull up injured or get recalled.

Hallas had 3 games on the bench for Leeds last season. Jordan-Roberts had just the one. The prop whose name I don't want to try and type is the only one who didn't. All of them have first team squad numbers for this season, so they're obviously close to the first team, albeit no doubt mainly classed as backup.

On one hand I see one of the better academies are lending us 4 of their top prospects. On the other hand I see they're only for a month and it's still not giving us much in the way of experience.

On another plus side, we might not have to pick Vila and Oscar any more, so that's definitely a good thing.
