One decent tune hardly "defines a generation".

And if a generation has been defined as a junk riddled suicide case then I am sad I was a part of this generation.

Apparantly some eye witness reports suggest he suffered the heart attack after tripping over a childs pram. However, it's too early to blame it on the buggy.

The only reason Nirvana are seen as the band of the generation is because Alice In Chains were completely overlooked over here

Mind you Layne Stayley was no better for Junkie Riddled death.

This is uncanny CB - we ARE in full agreement!

Nirvana were better marketed. Dave Grohl is now in a much better band following Cobains' death and I was always of the opinion that Nirvana were not as good as other Seattle acts such as Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and for the first two albums certainly, Pearl Jam.

AIC were a top band.

Yes, just the one decent tune, of course.

Suicide by heroin or suicide by plastic surgery? What's the difference?

IMO.

For the sake of a balanced argument, Cobain did not kill himself by heroin (such an icon you do not know how he took his life?) and, although unconfirmed at present, I doubt Jackson died of a heart attack brought on from having plastic surgery. :D

You need a Court conviction to be a pedophile?

IIRC, OJ Simpson was never convicted of his ex wife's murder either........... and Pol Pot never set foot in a Court of Law....which must tee off the relatives of the 2 million his regime slaughtered......unless of course they subscribe to your point of view.

Perhaps sleeping with young boys and describing it as a "special love" is a Norfolk pastime as well?

He was simply another loopier version of Garry Glitter.....with a better lawyer,..... and the financial resources to pay out an estimated 18 million dollars in hush money.

His music from the eighties is another matter entirely, and was outstanding for that era., and worthy of comparison with previous pop greats.

He, however, was well past his sell by date as an artist, but that won't stop the music industry, who wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, from making millions out of his fairly predictable early demise.

Not to be outdone by BSC...

Berry Gordy on Michael Jackson's death

http://classic.motown.com/

Personally I've not had much time for him since the Jesus act at the Brit awards. But I think he was sadly a man troubled by a number of issues which you have to take into account for some of his bizarre behaviour.

I prefer to remember the music. Especially the early stuff.
