Re: Latest state of play posts only : Mon Jul 23, 2012 11:17 pm
BG is being paid how much ? 200 an hour for the total work his firm does ?

BG - they like and have to make Impact money as they don't know where their next job is etc

The ABC will want the Club with minimal payout and terms all on their side - will they get it ?

They will say they are the only key to survival and will use that as a bargaining tool against the RFL , who , for very obv reasons want Bulls afloat.

Been said many times on here - who blinks first ?

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/

Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

Thank god only when you find a religion that passes the truth test!

It also depends on who is advising the Ali Baba Consortium, not so much Guilfool trying to extend his fee but if the prospective buyers are playing who blinks first in the negotiations he is not worried! Its a Fiscal version of Musical Chairs, and hopefully Sod Hall will be the one sat on its rear end along with Guilfool!

The RFL say they cannot accept 'conditional' offers.

Is this stated somewhere as part of a constitution/set of rules?

Is the lease simply not for sale at any price?

Are the club to have their SL license revoked at the end of the season or will the fact we have been in admin reflect upon our bid in 2014/5?

Is it possible to value a business/club without this information?

Its a truism really, until any conditions are resolved an offer cannot be accepted as it would be ambiguous. The problem seems to be that they do not appear to be discussing those conditions.

Its all a bit "send three and fourpence we're going to a dance". There doesn't seem to be any real dialogue between the parties. I'm not sure if there are any legal restrictions that prevent the RFL speaking directly to ABC during the course of an Administration, but unless they do how can the major issues be resolved?

If the uncertainty goes on any longer I can see things falling apart on the pitch as coaches depart and players sort their futures out. That'll have a knock on effect on the fans too as people will lose hope.

It's not looking good.

I wonder if a key problem here is that the devastating schism within the club has spread beyond its borders.

On the one hand, Guilfoyle is in the same offices as Caisley and has long standing relationship so we are told. Whilst unable to provide the 'smoking gun' a range of senior RL journos are clearly suspicious of this relationship.

On the other we hand we have Nigel Wood of the RFL, who employed and works with Steve MacNamara as England coach and who we must assume, sanctioned the loan to the previous board, prior to buying the lease which is (again we assume) a key issue in the 'conditions' we keep hearing about.

One of the things this whole mess highlights is the poor standard of RL journalism. I like Sadler but even he has really made little effort to get a grip of this story.

Yes, I think the cut off will be after Sunday's game assuming it goes ahead. I assume the players are technically paid until the end of the month? They might feel an obligation to complete the July fixtures but will then want more certainty. And the noises from the coaches seems to be that the end of the month is their deadline.

Possibly, but I think that the fundamental issue is that the financial problems are just too big. I dont doubt that Hood, Caisley and Gilfoyle genuinely did their best to bring in investors, perhaps under the pretext "there isnt that much debt". But then potential investors saw the scale of the losses going forward and ran for the hills.

The scale of the losses don't appear (who knows) to be the issue on their own.

The problem appears to be;

1,Losses going forward +
2, Cost of investing in ground/facilities in order to increase income to stem said losses +
3,Unwillingness to consider first 2 without lease/tenure +
4, Extent of RFL liability which they will wish to recover +
5, Potential collapse of income if SL license revoked.

If you add 1+2+4+5 one sees the costs are potentially astronomical.

I disagree. Whilst there's undoubtedly a story to be told, I think telling it at this stage (or at any since March) would kill the club. I'm sure the journalists know exactly what's happening, but feel there is more to be lost than gained by telling it.
