Whilst I agree that Bentley needs game time for development, I don't want him overcooked. He looks a real prospect. Potentially the best we've had since Bateman. But throwing him in to a starting position every week isn't good for him.

Plenty of game time this year? Yeah. Starting spot every week? No.

I remember Paul Medley & Mick Potter speaking at a fans forum. They spoke about the need to introduce young players at the right pace and not to throw them in before they're totally ready. I think that rings true for Bentley.

Crying out for experienced forwards and we let Joseph sign for Workington?

I just hope there is a plan, because I'm concerned about the one that appears to be emerging. We won't stay up on loan signings of youngsters alone in this league.

suspect its more a case of they have a set budget and joseph wanted too much.

Well that's the optimistic alternative. We shall see, but I'd be surprised if Jospeh was asking the earth and him signing for Workington would seem to point towards supporting that theory.

If you read the story on Workington's website, it appears that he decided he'd rather go part-time and work on building up his business.

Correct, plus we were able to offer him one of the community development roles which boosts his earnings quite a bit.
