Can't say I'm particularly convinced by Toovey.

As said before, it's been an impossible situation for everyone connect to them club, but we just seemed to be getting worse as the year went on. Seems the players are convinced though, so I'll consider myself overruled - 'course, they could be just spouting verbatim from the club propaganda/good news only policy.

This is what's confusing me. If Toovey hasn't decided what he's doing yet, who is it that's passing off on these 24 players (14 confirmed according to Ethan Ryan article + 10 Chalmers said to RagingBull). Is there something we're not being told or are players being signed by someone who isn't even going to be the bloke who has to coach them?

Chalmers and Lowe are signing the players

Which isn't good. The head coach should be in charge of recruitment. Didn't work out all that well when Green & Ferres were doing the signings did it?

If that's correct, it's a mess that quite frankly falls on Toovey. His messing about means the club can't afford to wait and ChaLo are having to make the decisions that the coach normally would. I say it falls on Toovey, but an argument could be made it falls on ChaLo too for not telling him commit now or get yourself off so we can get someone else in.

The owners signing players doesn't fill me with confidence, even if most of the players signed so far have looked like good business.

Perhaps whoever gave him a contract until November, when the season ended in September, shares the blame?

In fairness with having spent there entire careers in rugby league I'd trust ChaLowe more than Green or Ferres.

Agree it isn't really good, but what is the alternative? If we don't sign good players when they are available, or don't sign up our young academy players then we risk losing them. To be honest, I think that would be much worse than sitting on our hands until a new coach is hired - if indeed we'll be needing a new coach. Though I strongly suspect we will be,
