It does seem to contain some old phraseology, like ABC being an asian consortium, when it's already been publicly stated that it's not all asian. That apart the fact that a definite, I assume written, offer has been made does give the impression of movement, but if the RFL and ABC haven't met and sorted out their obvious differences, I'm not really sure of the point of all this.

Yes the consortium includes property developers but they do have a long history within rugby league.

If the RFL wont accept a conditional offer, they wont accept any offer, at all, ever. All transactions are subject to conditions.

Ah, but isn't this offer one with conditions over and above the base conditions the RFL are happy with.

Eg, you can buy my coat, but it comes with shoes. While ABC want to buy the shoes and lease the coat......etc....

Then they will accept a conditional offer, just one they were happy with. Which is pretty much how all transactions are done. Even buying a coat with free shoes.

So the obvious conclusion is that they are waiting for a better offer to manifest itself.

ATEOTD if the RFL refuse to sanction this deal then they are going to be seriously out of pocket. Additionally many people will be thrown on to the dole and a top super league league club will close its doors for good and a few thousand supporters without a club to support who may lose complete interest in the professional game.The RFL simply have to let this deal go through. Too much is at stake to be worrying about a few minor rules and principles being transgressed.
It may well be that the RFL will be seen to be setting precedents that others consider unfair but in the light of these troubled economic times i think we are very lucky to see someone come forward to buy this club and any rejection of such a deal would just be plain stupid.

Not really. Bradford have suffered a perfect storm of circumstances, coupled with some seemingly inept management.
