I expect the same to happen again if Wood does well with us, I just hope he's being used as cover and not as a regular or it looks like we're reduced to being a feeder club.

For the RFL's supposed pets, we don't half get screwed over in the fixtures. 2015 first game Leigh away, 2017 Hull KR away, plus having to play them 3 times in the bash. Least L1 will be fairer with it just being a simple home 7 away set of fixtures (it'll never catch on)

No, it probably won't catch on and there are, apparently, "still some ends to tie up", anyway so it may be tweaked even yet.

I'm fine with a couple of loans to bulk out the squad, if we assemble a 30 strong squad with only 2 or 3 of them being loans we should be able to cover a 2nd row being recalled. We definitely should be limiting it though, and not take on people who can be recalled in the key positions of 9/6/7.

I don't know if I missed any announcement, but I assume we're not planning on running a Dual reg arrangement for 2018?...unless recruitment goes pear-shaped.

I'm assuming he meant, 'already in the bag', or at least pretty certain, and not that we still had a dozen to find.

My initial feeling about this signing was very pleased. Then I found out about the recall option and was very disappointed. Now i've thought about it some more I'm thinking that we need to see who else we sign first to decide if it is a risk/bad move.

As others have said, 1 or 2 loan signings in a 30 man squad is fine, especially if we manage to sign some quality permanent players. Maybe the club feel that they'd rather have a couple of real quality loan additions from Super League clubs than sign someone from the Championship/League 1 permanently that will just "do a job".

If this guy is as good as Oledski or Murray then I'll be happy.

He has only made 2 appearances for Hudds in 2 years and played the rest in the Championship. Fingers crossed they have even more cover now they've signed Roche and won't need him at all.

Let's get this Into perspective, he played twice for Huddersfield, never played in 17 when they were poor and injury hit. As others have said we suffered when we had 5loanees recalled, but currently he is the only one and with little chance it seems of getting a game at Huddersfield

We are fine with two or three but no more.
I doubt Hudds will call him back after not using him. It could be ideal for him and us and who knows if he turns out Ok then he may just want to stay on a permanent deal.

If Toovey returns and stays I will be surprised if he hasn't been having a chat with a couple of second teamers from down there to come back with him. If he knows he is coming back then what a waste of time him being in OZ and not trying to find a couple of "Sirronen" type players.

Chalmers did say there were two signings this last weekend and 10 others lined up to take the squad to 30.
The lined up part may simply be that we need another 10 rather than actually having 10 already agreed. But it is encouraging that he does see the need of having 30 in the squad and most of them our players.

I have now forgotten last year and am starting to look forward to the new season playing in the league we should have been. A year wasted but that is gone now and onward and upwards.

World Cup hasn't started yet either so if Chalmers is going to be "all over it" then I'd expect at least 3 or 4 from there.
