Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

Re: Transfer talk : Thu Dec 08, 2022 9:08 am
I'm pleasantly pleased with the business we are doing and also glad to hear comments from the club about being financially prudent with their budget. However...

Anyone else a little worried about what is actually hidden away in the club accounts after the announcements that Wigan and St Helens have lost millions over last two years.

I totally get the budgets are different, but if clubs like that can lose so much money despite the funding they get as SL clubs then I bare to think about how we have fared.

I imagine the accounts will be dire for 2021 and 2022. Home crowds have understandably declined at an alarming rate. The Odsal experience of watching sterile rugby and losing the game in a vast empty bowl with peeling paint and filthy seating and terracing isn't a massive draw. Add in some inclement weather and you're really stuffed. Fewer people feel obliged to go to the game nowadays so you have to make the experience enjoyable. A better side playing decent winning rugby is a start.

I see Ukuma Taai has been let go by Newcastle. Always liked him and think he would be a good addition to our front row.

Scrap that, I see he has been signed by York.

The accounts up to 30th November 2021 have recently been posted on Companies House. I’m no expert so won’t comment, but it would be good if anyone who knows what they’re talking about could give an interpretation.

At first glance, not nearly as bad as I expected. Our liquidity has actually improved on 2020?
Also quite interesting to note that we owe just over £100k to Global Rugby League Solutions Ltd - a company owned by Nigel Wood.

I see Patton's definitely staying. There's an interview doing the rounds at the moment. If he stays on the straight and narrow then that's a bonus and means we could play Lilley at hooker. That's his best position IMO.

It'll be interesting to see who the signing is next week. I still think we need 2 props and another centre.

Name I’ve heard mentioned is Craig Mullen
