I think Macca may sit down with him at the end of the year to discuss his future. I can't really see a coaching role for Deacs either though, so it would be farewell. Has been a great player and servant to the club, but as more peopl are noticing he is nearing the end of his career.

I find Deacon's deterioration to be quite mystifying. I know some have never rated him but he seems to me to only 50% of the player he once was.

Usually players decline rapidly because either: a) they were heavily dependant on pace; or b) joint injuries, especially busted knees.

Deacon never relied on pace and whilst he has taken a few head shots he hasnt had many debilitating ijhuries. He always struck me as being one of those players that would improve with age and play well into his 30's.

What I particularly cant understand is the decline in his skill levels and his kicking game.
