I've tried some of the suggestions on here but most have been bland with cheap meat. They dont make them like they used to unfortunately but the only stand out curry in Bradford imo and I've been eating them for the best part of 35 years has got to be Omar Khans in Little horton lane. The tava gosht lahora is what curries are all about and this dish is consistently good every time! A proper curry for the curry connoseur!
But Omar Khans is not what you'd call a curry house, it is aimed at the posh end of the market. Think sequined cushions. Top posh scran it can be , too, but most of the time when I want a curry, I don't want it as rich and posh and arty-farty as what they do. Or as expensive.
When we were based near that end, I often went to the Rawal on Wilton Street. Don't even know if it is still open, but if it is, try that, in particular any of the chef's specials, and then come back.
Went in Lahore but didn't realise it's not a curry house till I looked at the menu. They do a couple of curries but seem to do lots of different stuff like burgers etc. All very nice inside but I wanted a curry so we went next door to Omars.
Unfortunately it was pants. My chicken masala was tasteless, utterly lacking any flavour. My wife had a balt veg daal which was better. A mate had chicken tikka starter (he'd eaten earlier) but when this came it was obviously sliced chicken tikka that you get in packets that go in sandwiches, it was grim. The naans were still ok though but no free popadoms. In summary I won't be going back.

Seriously, your post implied that you go there regularly, but it's always poor. That sounds like rubbish to me, but more to the point, I know the main chef and I know Omar, and have occasionally eaten there for years without the food ever being less than 8/10 (judged by 'posh' curry standards). I've recommended it to loads of folk, and never had a bad report either. So I would advise anyone to take your comment with a considerable number of pinches of salt.
