Reading through this thread as I like to have an idea of where we are going when Quins play Bulls and agree the International has gone down hill so we are looking for a 'new' venue, seems like Omars is mentioned favourably a few times. Has anyone been recently and if so is it still recommended??

If you have any spare time, try a place called Kiplins in Greengates. Not the most Indian decor inside but the food is top notch!

Personally, if I wasn't going to the International, I'd always pick the Punjab Sweet Centre. Omars is one of those that you either really like or really don't (as you'll see from differing opinions on here), whereas I'm not sure I've heard a bad word against the Punjab (although I haven't read all this thread either!)

I'm with Dilligaf, I'd go to the Punjab Sweet Centre as well. Still fairly easy to get to from Odsal. Standard Bradford prices, good portion sizes and the food is good quality. Also, it has that authentic surrounded by slums "are you sure it's safe here?" feel to it.

But critically it is nobbut a stone's throw from the Fighting Cock, being The Best Pub In The Universe

The Best Pub in the Universe that doesn't show Warrington v Bradford games when there's a Yawnion match on that is.
The pub I watched it in had Union on one screen, some round ball thing on another and Wire-Bulls on a third. The whistling got well confusing. I was blaming Ganson for blowing up for all sorts of innocuous looking things.

Sounds like the constant noises in Mick Gledhill's head.

Not wanting to turn this thread into a pub guide rather than a curry guide, but I watched most of the Bradford Wigan game in the City Vaults, opposite Waterstone's main entrance. Unusually for Bradford, a quality city centre pub with good beer & clientele.
