Points scoring excersise on both parties and the need to have the last word.
TBF if there's one person who appoints themself to attempt to have the last word on anything, that would be you. As here. Except you seem to have this notion that it's OK for you to do it, but not for anyone else.
The way it comes across to me is both of them are more interested finding out 'who's dads harder than the other' or 'who's got the biggest willy'. One has a dig, then the other and vice versa, everyday it seems. They are like my two infant children at times.
TBF it has not happened for a while as far as I am concerned. I have generally tried to ignore what he has had to say. However, when you see on this thread that three different people have made a similar point yet he choose to generally ignore the other two then you can see where his obsession lies. (He describes it as a call for moral support)
The biggest problem I have is not responding to someone who continually just makes things up in order to try and formulate an argument.
However, I see he has shifted his attention now to RER. Good luck to him.
TBH, FA can have the last word if he wishes. No doubt he will look to this as "not being able to formulate an argument". I don't really care what the clown thinks TBH.

At the risk of butting in on yet another FA/ME love fest ( )...what is your definition of a "REAL TOP CLASS" signing??
Menzies was, Bird would have been, Wing certainly will be. Buderus was for Leeds as was Brent Webb, Hodgson (Brett) was for Huddersfield, Puletua was for Saints as was Gidley and, further back, Lyon. There has to be a realism of who you can bring to these shores from overseas whilst in their prime.

How many real top class players are there actually in the world?
Not a massive amount but sadly most of the real quality will stay in the NRL.

So Menzies is a real top class signing? ?
Of course, but it is let down a bit by his age. Imagine the same guy for us in his prime!

What is better - one real top class signing and a few average players or several extremely good but maybe not "World class" signings?
Several extremely good for me. One world class player is eyecatching but putting the likes of Lockyer in the Salford side would not make them contenders overnight. It is striking the right balance that is important IMO.

It would be great though, like when Wally Lewis played for Wakey in the 80's. My memory is as sharp as a Paul Deacon side step but I can still remember the king's debut versus Hull.

Agreed, you need realism in who is available and affordable. So you would agree that the Bulls have done all they can to sign the best quality players available to them this season? They are still in the market obviously.

See above.

When he was in his prime we had players of a similar quality.

I agree, that's why I'm not so unhappy about having Menzies, Lynch, Burgess, etc. Hall already sorted for next year, some excellent young players coming through and already making their mark, and some pretty decent squad players.
A good balance you would agree?

No-one's going to believe that for a second. You get so wound up, the space around your posts turns a shade of puce.

See them pointy things on the end of your hand? Just don't press any buttons on your keyboard. Unless you have a specific form of OCD, it's easy.

Your weary MO is boring. I am not "having the last word" but "responding" to posts you, or anyone else I reply to, has/have made. That is what a discussion forum is for. I don't give a flying one whether you or anyone wants to weirdly claim this is me "wanting to have the last word" or not, but apart from the mods nobody has a right to decree that their last pearls of wisdom were the last word on the subject, and I don't understand why you're so obsessed with the "last word" argument that you invariably trot out.
In my opinion you'd be better off trying to support your weird contention that the Bulls don't make top class signings, which is what the whole point of the thread (and certainly what I posted) is about, rather than taking everything so bloody personally every time I post and getting on your tiresome high horse, but whatever the reason, I reckon the Bull's long record of such signings, which continues, is unassailable.
If you are really convinced that these people are second rate players then as I've tried to make clear I accept, indeed defend, your right to hold barking views, but if you unjustifiably (IMHO) disparage the Bulls (as you often do) on the Bulls forum, dn't think you've got free rein to do so unopposed.
It doesn't matter whether they are at their physical and playing peak, or not, I really can't see how anyone can dispute that:
Morrison was a top class signing. (For reasons I have set out, which you don't comment on)
Newton was a top class signing. (You have ignored his case)
Menzies was a top class signing. (Does it really even justify any debate???)
All the players I have listed were top class signings.
Hall for next season is a top class signing.
They all (indisputably) possess your latest stated attribute of "real quality". And that's my final word on the subject (since it is such an important issue for some to know this) so anyone who wants to have "the last word" can attempt to do so anywhere beyond this point.
I think we are making steps in the right direction but I think we will have to wait until the recruitment for 2010 is complete before we can be too sure. We have a good blend of youth and experience in the squad but we have no real balance in the side with the forwards beings much superior to the backs IMO.
Hopefully this will be adressed though and I have no doubt that it is.
Despite what some wind up merchants who cannot read claim elsewhere, I have not commented on any players being second rate whatsoever, but rather point out that they are not as good as is being made out. Whether that case is to be debated, it is merely an opinion rather than being completely made up in order to suit an argument.
We have made some excellent signings in the past, just as we have made a few turkeys too. It happens, but learning from the mistakes is what matters to me.
