Heard today that we're talking to the young castleford halfback Tom Holmes
Would make some sense. Did quite well by most accounts when filling in recently, and once Dorn, Hampshire, Roberts & Gale are all fit, he won't be getting a sniff at the Jungle.
I can play 6 or 7. I'm bloody terrible at it, but I CAN play there.
The wording does suggest it's someone whose primary position hasn't been 6 or 7 but has played there before doesn't it?
It does depend on the level this supposed player has done his bit in the halves. In our position, the second division, a solid SL or NRL 'occasional' half coming to the 'back end' would be a decent fit. Not for the future but for right now.

Absolutely. And until we know who it is, it's difficult to praise or criticise it.
After the underwhelming news of Richie Mathers last time an exciting signing was touted, I'm gearing myself up for Ryan McGoldrick.
Well first and foremost we just need to get a scrum half within the squad. Ideally though I'd like to see somebody brought in on a permanent deal who we've actually identified as somebody who can fit into our setup. After all this time waiting I would be a bit disappointed if we signed somebody else's youngster to develop but I guess beggars can't be choosers.
When Ferres talked about a 7 who can also play a few positions I instantly thought of Pita Godinet.
