none of this eases the supporters nerves and these winding up orders are biggest scaremongers of all - from the club. if HMRC had been paid on time we wouldn't be worried about the clubs future. Why can't Green or Ferres from wherever they are on holiday put something on bulls TV to ease our nerves. the communication from the club is appalling.
It's not just the recent WUP that worries me. The previous issues seemed to point towards admin issues and/or misunderstandings between the club and the creditor(s).
I'm conscious that some people could look at us talking about these concerns and accusing us of contributing to the scaremongering, but there comes a point where peoples are starting to ask questions of the current setup. Even looking at the previous owners, we were never in the Gazette as much as we have been this year.
My mistake, all businesses in the UK are obviously subject to multiple Winding Up Orders over the course of the year.
Nothing to see here, carry on regardless.....
Don't be a prat, I added my answers and comments in general, nobody is remotely saying that we're ecstatic at our repeated, erm, misunderstandings with HMRC.
Also, you are wrong as no Winding Up order has been made. It's a Petition.
..Even looking at the previous owners, we were never in the Gazette as much as we have been this year.
So you'd like to go back to being in repeat administrations, then?
You need to get more relaxed about it, cos we remain afloat, and have done for 2 years under the current management, so just accept that is a big improvement and don't stress over stuff you can't control.
Or do, if that's what floats your boat. Not sure your indignance will make much odds. I'm with Bullseye - frankly, I no longer give a damn, if they keep us going then I don't really care at this point how they do it.
According to Mick there was a late submission. this could be either the return, which would result in an assessment if left a while, or the payment, which would not result in an assessment. either of these would result in a surcharge if it was the second occasion.
the assessment for the late return is easy to deal with: you put in the return, and HMRC alter their expectations accordingly, to the amount due on the return.
The surcharge however is a different beast: you could be a day late, and yet be assessed for a surcharge of £250k (an example quoted by tax consultants). You can either ask for a review by HMRC or appeal to a tribunal. However the communication between the department in Newcastle that the review/appeal request/notice is sent to and the debt collection service are pretty bad, so I am not surprised at all that the debt collection dept got itchy fingers and pressed the petition button without consulting their colleagues
The government back in about 2010 recognised how unfair it was that the same surcharge was applied irrespective of whether you were a day or a year late, and suggested a move to greater proportionality, however HMRC have been too busy to work out a fairer system (yes FA I know what you are going to say, HMRC get commission on it so of course they are too busy, counting their bonuses!).
This happened 3 months ago, and it sounds to me like a surcharge, HMRC will fight the appeal so that other companies are not given the opportunity to use the same basis, and it could simply be one day late.
so they know what the worst is, and I am sure that Marc and Steve will have planned for the eventuality of the appeal failing,
FA - Not called you anything in said discussion, don't understand why you are so quick to get personal.
This, just after being told i'm talking "Bollox"
Would be nice to see you entertain and engage in a friendly debate now and again, without seeing the OTT remarks of people and what they post
There's friendly debate and there's destabilising, malicious rubbish. Tasker appeared and deposited shoite in all corners of the forum, and I don't do friendly with trolls. You're not a troll, but unfortunately you have to an extent fallen for it as you have followed on from his posts instead of recognizing him for what he is.
I only said your comments about HMRC were bollox, and they were. If my friends talk bollox, or act like a prat, then I tell them. It's hardly "personal". I'd hope they would do the same for me.
