It's rumoured that Ottawa Aces will be playing in league 1 next year and will be playing their home games at Odsal Stadium. How do we all feel about this? Personally I have no problem with this and the more contributing to the upkeep of the ground the better.

Pointless exercise really. Wouldn't trust Perez as far as I could throw Nigel Wood.

If they are going to actually do this, what is the point of the Ottowa Aces? Is there a great thirst for watching old Aussies play third-tier rugby on the telly over there?
Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cosy, doesn't try it on.

If they play all games in the UK then what's the point? I don't understand the concept.

the idea will be to play in Ottawa once travel is resolved

I accept this then asks the next question, is there a market for it but that question was appropriate before Covid when they applied

The Odsal home game will be 12 as a needs much option

I was open-minded about Toronto and whilst they existed Ottawa seemed like a logical next step. Without Toronto, Ottawa seems beyond pointless.

Is this a rumour with any credance? I can't find any mention of this anywhere...

IF true, and it makes sense with the Nigel Wood / Eric Perez link - then there could be a 'method in the madness' with some sort of 'dual reg' arrangement whereby our fringe players could play games for 'Ottawa' (and I use that term loosely)

It could be a way of Race, Jowitt, O'Hanlon, Ho et al getting some game time

But I'll believe it when I see it

I'll wait and see if anyone else reports it before I believe it.
