Looking at how the squad is shaping up he'll definitely be playing first team next year, at least until the big clubs come knocking like Keighley.

We're not exactly making announcements that will boost Season Ticket sales, are we...?

I know its a load of tosh, but shall we pretend the club are waiting to hear the IMG announcement. They then know what they need to achieve in 2023 and recruit accordingly?

Yep you're correct its a complete load of tosh. We need to be putting together a squad to be in the top 4 no matter whos running the game or what the structure is. These IMG talks dont change that in anyway shape or form. I hope the club isnt using that as some sort if excuse as it simple doesnt make a difference.

Well playing devils advocate, if its 2 divisions of 10 then we only need to be top 8. You can imagine the club aspiring to scrape 8th and recruiting based on that. Not saying that's at all sensible, or what any of us want, but its plausible.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. It fits with the "do the absolute bare minimum you can get away with" that characterises the owner's enthusiasm for the job.

Re: Transfer talk : Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:43 pm
Does anyone really expect this two divisions of ten thing to actually happen? I can't see it personally, and even if it did happen, I suspect the majority of the central funding would stay with the top 10 teams. There is no way the current SL clubs would vote in a system that reduces their share of the money.

I think in our case it's probably more likely that Nigel is waiting to see what comes of the stadium bid. If, by some small miracle, the bid is successful then investment in the Bulls wouldn't be too far behind I think. But if it fails, then I can see Nigel offloading the club to anyone who will take it and from there, who knows. Most likely oblivion.

I think that assesment is spot on.

Well get ready for a new owner then. If the stadium bid comes off I'll marry Nigel and we'll have the ceremony on top of the new roof with Keith Boaza presiding and Pumpetypump as my maid of honour.
