Not often I agree (or even read the little halifax s stuff) but he has got it spot on.
But.....should RL not try to get him back into the fold sooner rather than later? I feel that he is a much bigger loss to RL coaching than he was as a player

he has been out of the game for 4/5 years now, and has no top flight coaching experience. If a club wants to employ him, fair enough - but the game doesnt need him, and we shouldnt pay him any more attention than any other RU coach.

So you wouldn't welcome, say, Shaun Edwards as England RL coach ?

Andy Farrell was/is a legend in RL circles. Do you think the RFL couldn't use him as a youth mentor (which is what Sarries are doing because they don't want to lose Owen)
Oh...I forgot, England have a top clAss RL set up that really excelled at the WC

Mentioned it on a previous post, for me he was one of the best players I've ever seen. regardless of the fact he played for Wigan, he was a real leader and absolutely immense on the field.

Is nobody else bemused as to why these players were looking at switching codes before Union turned pro?

I ran out for a London based Union club in the 80's......and believe me, there was a load of money floating around for expenses etc......
Farrell may well have ended up as CEO of RBS

Ok, turned pro "officially"

Still though, I can't think of a single example of a high profile league player switching to Union in pre-pro days. Never mind 3!
