Weren't we the 1st with a salary cap, overseas qouta, sin binning?

We get ignored enough as it is, so it's a little irksome to not be given credit where it's due, but even worse that Union get the credit.

In which case, yes, you're right. We were the first code of rugby to copy them from other sports.

I thought the Red and Yellow cards were more for the benefit of the speccies and other officials, A Ref can still send a player off without showing a red card, and also sin bin them IIRC.

Ice hockey definitely had a limit on imports back in the early 90s, hence loads of Canadians finding out they had British heritage and getting passports to get round it.....hmmmm, sounds familiar!
