Firstly let's not detract from what an utterly shambolic, embarassing capitulation that was from Salford (my team). Neither decision decided the game (although the first contributed to a huge momentum swing).
However, both were disgraceful decisions from an absolute joke of a ref. Brilliant tackle and quick thinking from Atkin to stop a try and rip the ball all in one movement so a penalty was harsh enough but the yellow was just clueless officiating (the TJ needs to take just as much of the blame).
And the PP sending off? Marginally late, not high, no contact with head, not dangerous. So yeah, straight red is the obvious decision.
Take nothing away from Rovers though. Decent team this year who are much better than the sum of their parts. Unfortunately Salford are the polar opposite. Yes the injury list is horrendous but no desire, no structure and dare I say it, Leigh might just have a lifeline.
