West Wales Raiders Withdraw From League One West Wales Raiders have resigned from the Betfred Championship One competition with immediate effect. With the fixtures having already been published, West Wales due to start wth a home game against Oldham on the 19th February, this announcement has plunged the league into some confusion and reduced the number of home games for already sold season tickets and hospitality packages.   The league will now comprise ten sides, and already included bye rounds, but now with the late withdrawal it is possible that some sides may face two consecutive weeks without a game. The fact that our tinpot sport cannot EVER sustain a club in South Wales is absurd. They love Union first and foremost, and always will, but the idea we can't get a modest league club established just blows my mind.

Doesnt help that this club changed name, ground and logo several times, it takes years if not decades to build a brand not 5mins.

So it's nothing to do with them getting hammered every week. Nothing to do with IMG making clear that the glass ceiling is now one of reinforced concrete?

Expansion will never happen, IBHO, under a regime brought in by certain chairmen. The supposed reaffiliation between SL and the remnants of the RFL was a f*** & chuck blind date with the latter party being the blind and bumsore one!
