| Seems like 5mins since the 1895 game. That was really entertaining and the fracas at the end when Manning went tonto was a particular highlight for me (when is he back? - would be great if it was a fixture against us).
That game was a bit of a bad tempered game with ref Mikolauskas not endearing himself to either home or away fans and officials. We seemed to struggle to handle pantomime villain James Brown who seemed to offload at will and also practice the dark arts without much intervention from the ref. Hopefully we'll get a better ref for this one (but probably end up with him again or Vella) since it needs someone who can keep on top of things.
We could do with once of Lawrence or Donaldson back to steady the ship when it gets fraught. Lawrence has a groin problem and Donaldson is struggling with a chest/sternum knock. Expect we might have Waine back from loan at London so an opportunity for him maybe.

| Cracking game, everyone stepped up, ran with power, attacked down the edges then broke tackles through the middle. 8 different try scorers and the Logan dummy on the FB for his try was evil!

| Impressive performance. Lots of stand outs. Franklin who? Thought the pack was totally dominant. The try from Bayliss where he bust the line, dummied the fullback and went 50m was incredible. Souter and Ott really great from dummy half. Lilley had another top game - seems to be running a lot straighter this year which is paying dividends. Hooley with a couple of try saving tackles. Waine made some great offloads. Michael put another huge shift in. Only fly in the ointment for me was the left side defence was a bit dodgy between Meadows and Gill. It showed versus Sheffield and Batley got a bit of joy there too. Some work to do there before we play York who will have picked up on that.
Thought Batley were a shadow of their former selves. Some of their first half defence was non-existent. They seemed to find some pride in the second half but the game was gone by then.
