i was noticing huddersfield great form this season and was wondering if brownie was using this tactic at all

SL teams dont try and slow down the PTB at all, and its a very important part of the nrl so i wouldnt be surprised if brown did coach this

though as freddy says above, last year he gave the storm a huge serve for using this very same tactic

huddersfield were warned and penalised for grapple tackles against hull fc, its slowly creeping into their game im afraid

we are getting rid of it with 2 refs.

there are many other legal ways to slow down the PTB though

though many nrl teams use other illegal tactics like the chicken wing, turtle and placing their boot down on top of the tackled players leg as they get up to slow things down

It's been around for a couple of years now but this year the refs seem to be picking up on it and therefore everyone else is then noticing it in tackles they dont.
I've seen a few chicken wings on the go too.

Hull were doing it right back too

All teams do it to some extent, some teams get away with it.
