Some might look at this as being harsh but I think it's fair. When are the Rugby League going to stop persisting with this fantasy expansion. If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.
There wasn't even a season review was there? Sky not giving a toss about RL is becoming somewhat of a theme.
If the rumours are true re Boots n All then we've gone from having: SL Fulltime SL Superstars Boots n All SL Backchat & Friday and Saturday games
To: SL Fulltime Thursday or Friday and Monday games
Not to mention the loss of Championship and NRL coverage/highlights.
Not very impressed with Sky at the moment.
Also a massive reduction of RL coverage on Sky Sports News and SL Fulltime cut from an hour-long studio show to a half hour highlights-only show with an amateurish voiceover. Add that to the ridiculous, outdated and at times unwatchable RL coverage that Sky provide with the likes of Terry O'Connor doing post-match interviews and the fact that they constantly schedule us in an awful Thursday timeslot that is terrible for everyone including themselves, I've been saying for a couple of years that whoever the new director of programming is at Sky has it in for RL. Maybe it's the loss of a London presence in SL that means they don't feel like they have to take the sport seriously anymore.
Yep. I used to accept the poor commentary from the likes of Eddie & Stevo because I couldn't really fault Sky's commitment, with all those programs I've listed and before that the championship or NRL coverage. But recently, in the last couple of years, we've seen a significant reduction in effort and commitment from Sky. Yes they've made an ad with Ryan Hall in it. But I think I've seen it once. We weren't on the ads for the new year of sport in December and January, we're rarely mentioned on Sky Sports News or Sky News in any more than a passing, cursory manner.
It's led to me to think whether my expensive Sky subscription is actually worth it, especially given the huge increase in money spent on football.

Throw in more extensive coverage of the bore-athon that is American football too which seems to be getting more and more coverage

Definitely same feelings from me too. I currently pay top dollar for all the channels and my internet from sky, have done for the past decade, but i'm not far a way from knocking it on the head now.The new multi millions they pay for the football, (a lot of BIG GAMES which has now gone to BT so not worth it imo) the loss of the Champions League and the next cricket Ashes series.Couple that with the massive rise, as mentioned above in featuring sports i have no interest whatsoever in like American Football, Scottish football (FFS!!) etc.. whilst our game gets stripped back for air time i think i will be able to live without a couple of live RL games a week.I will get Premier Sports for my fix and the NRL for that now that they have it in HD, and for only around a tenner a month saving myself a fortune whilst also safe in the knowledge my cash isn't being fed straight into a greedy chav Soccer players wallet!
I'd cancel Sky. Tell them your feelings about the deterioration in RL coverage at the same time. Then, if you still want it, it shouldn't be long before you can take up a half price deal they will send you.

Spot on.
They also show Dutch Football and Premier League under 21's to fill in the gaps. Sky is an absolute rip off. Basically the increase in subscription is giving average millionaire footballers a pay rise.
