I knew I'd get something wrong.
But then you'd expect there'd be many more than three 'missed tackles' accumulated in 240 minutes, so I'm not buying that interpretation either.
Without an explanation from Opta I think we're p1ssing in the wind on this one.
In another early season query, Paul McShane (Leeds) has got two (fairly identical) passes away for tries. The one to Lee Smith V Celtic (Sky) was deemed worthy of a try assist from Opta, the one to Ryan Hall V Hull KR (Sky) wasn't. If anything he did slightly more for the Hall try than the Smith one.
If such alarming discrepancies are typical, they render anything Opta come out with as fairly worthless.
