The gulf was clear to see yesterday but I think, and hope, that we are better than that but still not good enough. At least the new season creates an interesting end to the season and a chance for clubs to test themselves.

Yes there is a gulf in class but should we worry No the championship clubs are all playing for 5th spot any higher is a bonous they just want the chance of a one off game (4th V 5th) for the last super league spot. My opinion is that from what I have seen so far is that Leigh will be that team & as they have shown they can do it in a one off. We will get a better idea after todays round. As I write I am watching this Brisbane put St George to the sword by 30 points at the moment no one seems to worry about a gulf in class there?

No because next week the Dragons could put 50 points against their opposition and the Bronc's get wallopped. The NRL is far more unpredictable than SL

Is it? I don't think the Dragons have scored 50 points in a game all season; they aren't going to start now. And the Broncs (much as I dislike them) aren't going to get tonked by anyone at this stage in the season. The NRL isn't more unpredictable, it's just that the gap between top and bottom is narrower than in SL.

To be fair to Bradford, they looked nervous pre match and the strong start and quicker ptb and line speed (first time all season), Bradford just couldn't cope.
Also, their star man going off after 8 minutes didn't help them.

The other 3 "qualifiers" fixtures today will go a long way to showing how this "competition" will shape up.

Also, IF the Championship clubs cant get the better of their SL rivals, there will still be the "million pound game" for one of them to look forward to.

The intensity of 7 tough games on the bounce will prove a tough ask for all the Championship Clubs but, The RFL will surely have thought about this when
they came up with the hair brained scheme.

Even though the new format has saved (at least temporarily) my club Wakefield, the whole concept is flawed but, it does give Sky some extra programme option,
so it's a great idea.

it appears that Leigh and Bradford fans both got a bit giddy by hammering the likes of Hunslet and Doncaster.

all this talk of how they were gonna batter the SL teams that i read earlier, both teams smashed by the worst sides in SL

Please provide quotes of Bulls fans saying we were going to 'batter' the SL teams. Those of us well aware of the vast difference between the speed of the two leagues, in addition to the salary cap disparity, were expecting no such thing to happen.

admittedly a very few Bulls, mainly the Leythers, but i have seen some Bradford fans suggesting that they and Leigh will, rightly, replace Salford and Wakefield

I think it was more COULD replace Wakey and Salford than WILL.

Next week will be interesting. Leigh and Bradford have Wakey and Salford at home, heavy defeats there and middle 8's could end in a whimper.

Leigh or Bradford win, and could ignite the completion again.
