Great news for Wakey just a day after York got planning permission.
So...
Saints moved into a new stadium this year
Salford moved into a new stadium this year
Catalans built a new stand last year
Leigh moved to a new stadium in 2009
Leeds built a new stand in 2006
Wire moved into a new stadium in 2004
Odsal underwent improvements in early 2000's
Hull KR have started building a new North stand
Halifax finished their new stand making their stadium fit for SL
Wakefield have announced plans for a new stadium
The rest already play in top stadiums...
I believe that is as a result of the attitude the RFL took towards stadiums and proclaiming their importance. Clubs have clearly felt the need to improve facilities hence the amount of activity. Can't wait to see a super league where every team plays in good facilities with good crowds. This is as a result of franchising, it has been a requirement to improve facilties, that can only be a good thing. I doubt we would have seen such a dramatic improvement without summer rugby and the super league.
I would expect a decent rise in the crowds at Wakey, massive history at that club and they are doing well for crowds in a terrible stadium at the moment. They are averaging a lot more than wire were before they moved to the HJ. The signs look good for wakey fans. It would be great to have another club averaging 10k with a good team on the pitch.

i just hope the RFL dont give in to the flat cappers and undo all this hard work by cas and wakey by relegating one and promoting the villagers from Featherstone.
