If thats the reason then would have been better giving these pay rises instead of signing the likes of Sibbit and Royston.

With Burgess it's not about the money. He's going for a better lifestyle, to live with his brother and try and make it through the ranks into the NRL. He'll be on less than at the Bulls.

Helewell & Wardle were offered more money (considerably more is what i've been told) by clubs with rich backers.

Although all 3 are promising, George would have walked for nothing in a couple of years and ATEOTD he's an unproven academy player who we recieved a fee for. Wardle & Helewell are definitely ones we'd have liked to keep, but if the club values them at a certain amount and a moneybags club will pay them half as much again, there isn't too much they can do. They can't be held to ransom by an 18 year old, plus we have kept hold of alot of promising youngsters aswell.

At prop we've lost a Burgess, we still have another plus Lilycrop & McAvoy to name a couple coming through.

At centre we've lost Wardle, we still have Crookes & Hawthorne

At Fullback we have lost Helewell, but we have alot of players in this position and also Finigan coming through the ranks who looks very promising.

I'm disappointed to see these 3 go, but it's no tragedy. I'll be happy watching Addy, Southernwood, Whitehead, Donaldson, Bateman, Olbison etc develop in the RAB especially seen as they want to wear the shirt.
