Just going on what I heard at the fans forum, hadn't seen the planning application. Further research required

It's always nice to see clubs redeveloping their spiritual home rather than move somewhere new, fair play Featherstone.

Here's that Hemel picture, it's not really worth looking at:

So the piling is well on the way (another week of it as far as I have been told).

Now the piling is done on certain areas they can move on to the next stage of ground work.

So after Cas fans were promised last week that there would be an update on the situation regarding their new stadium it would appear that the update is that there is no update....

http://www.loverugbyleague.com/news_9922-ferres-plots-castleford-overhaul.html

'....Ferres has also urged fans to "keep the faith" with the new stadium project, which he describes as "very complex".

He added: "Whilst I’m sure fans were hoping that more progress had been made, it is totally understandable given its complexity. Many people have put a lot of hard work in to the project so far and we intend to do our upmost to deliver what is an integral part of the club’s future. Rest assured as soon as we can communicate anything further we will do so."...'

Looks like the CEO has been changed but not the record.

The cost of a full move was too high, plus it would render most of the oldest stand (on the clubhouse side) unusable due to poor sightlines

They've gone for lengthening and leaving the POR end as it is for now.

Not sure about the slope, I know they've looked at it, but I think the main issue is that the two existing stands are built with the slope in mind.

Not sure you're right there Homer. I was actually involved in the construction of the original new stand that replaced the one that burnt down in 1984 (I think).

It is deffo not sloped and if I recall it was built with the levelling of the pitch in mind. I imagine the one built in the 90's was the same.

I honestly see no reason with a new end why it cant be levelled or at least leveller.

Be a tidy ground then.

You've got that right!

So far Ferres has just done exactly the same things as RW - announce and an announcement which turns out to be there is no announcement and try to bully fans into buying season tickets.

Very interesting indeed.

It's so refreshing to see some well shot video on a rugby league website. I love the intro as well, very professional.
