Great news. When does it start and when will it be ready for?

Any idea on cost?

I heard it was due to start at the beginning of January and should be ready for the start of the season.
Not sure on cost though.

Give over, when have Wakefield ever pulled a stunt like that.

It will keep fans dry, its only temp and won't be flash but it will do the job, ready before season kicks off.

Belle Vue is easily the worst stadium in the 3 leagues of top level football codes in this country. I always cringe slightly when SL games on SKY are shown live from Wakey.

Is that your honest opinion? Not just playing Devil's Advocate?

A fairly full BV looks Ok on TV, compared to many other grounds. Without starting a tit for tat war of words on here, how good do you think Craven Park, Odsal and (the very empty) Stoop, look on TV. Won't mention Salford as they are on the move...

Everyone knows Wakey need a new ground, but to suggest it is the worst in pro RL, just makes you look stupid.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Belle Vue might well be the worst stadium in top flight RL to look at , but that isn't the issue or that important , it makes income for the club , that is the important bit , having a shiny new stadium that costs clubs to play there , and doesn't allow clubs to operate is pointless , that is what some clubs are finally realising

Have you been to them all? Even if you have - have you no manners? I wouldn't dream of visiting your house and complaining about the smell of cat wee - not that a cat would live with an ignoramus like you! And that's from someone who can't stand cats!

Wakefield fans have had to put up with a load of BS over the years, from incompetent stewardships, poor facilities and the threat of expulsion from SL. Through all that strife, we are slowly but surely improving our crowds and our club because we LOVE RL - despite the fact that we don't have a nice shiny plastic seat seat in a nice shiny plastic stadium.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

How on earth can you compare Odsal to BV?

Odsal has over 5,000 seats, a requirement of the franchise application. Something Wakey are not even close to. All of that stand is also covered and it is around 10 years old.

They have a whole end dedicated to hospitality like BV but it is brand new and a great structure with a modern feel. Something BV does not have.

It has a large terrace with a big capicity, another thing BV lacks.

Odsal looks like a good old fashion RL stadium with a slight modern twist. I don't think it looks bad on TV, it looks unique and is a good example of RL's roots. The only thing which needs adding to Odsal is a roof IMO. It is probably the most unique stadium in the UK.

I am not even a Bradford fan
