There'll be a couple of Sydney club falling over anyways in the next few years so we'll come to the NRL's rescue and fill the spot of some failed suburb team.
No there won't be. Gallop has said that he sees the number of NRL clubs in Sydney as a strength of the comp. He also said that if any clubs came into any serious financial difficulties that the NRL itself would step in and give a lending hand instead of seeing the club perish. The only way Sydney will 'lose' a club is if they relocate.
the best ARL boss was ken arthurson. he had the vision to take the ARL into new zealand, queensland.
the worst would be neil whittacker. signed a pathetic 10 year TV deal with Channel 9 which was half what it was worth.
i thought someone would say ken arthurson dont get me wrong from pom perspective ken seemed a little oz biased when it came to 'world' expansion ie:northern hem'"do yer own thing".also remember the american rl pioneer from the 70's/80's mike mayer bemoaning arthurson's apparent lack of interest in the american market,(origin game taken to california)mayer reckoned he set up the exhibition and had some great contacts to get the ball rolling but at every oppurtunity mayer met by artherson's lack of interest and 'cant be arsed'attitude.mayers words dont think ken got on famously with his pom counterpart either!i dont think much progress could ever be made on the international stage under those auspices.for me national pride has undermined internatinal rl from both sides
arko brought in the nz warriors into our competition.
thats been a massive boost for the international game.
he probably thought the rewards werent there in america.
his knowledge of international RL is fantastic, talking about stuff from the early 1900s.
catalans are lookin like our nz warriors the impact in france has been astounding with the game getting unparalleled exposure.in fact im tipping france if they get it together to offer a challenge in the semi's.i believe donald trump is watchin the final?
winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

yeah france are probably even better than the nz warriors.
no one wouldve believed how good theyd be, and toulose in 2012 will put SL ahead of the nrl in its expansionist aims.
the growth of the game in france is unbelieveable, and hopefully wales will experience similar growth.
