"Arguably the best Rugby League side certainly in the last 40 years!" Phil Clarke.

Exactly, seen it too many times for it to be a one off, drunken wire fans can't take defeat with dignity. Most super league clubs have experienced similar with the Wiire fans troublemakers, we also had the Wire Steward Thugs a couple of seasons back with the punching frenzy on an away supporter.

Yup! Seen it at the GF and even more bizarrely some Wire muppets in the car park at Wembley even though they had won and they didn't even stay in the ground to watch the trophy presentation. Strange lot!

Warrington RLFC: The Wire, NOT Warrington Wolves

FORZA WIRE

You should be proud of yourself, It's a good job the majority of decent wire fans wouldn't agree with you.

I wasn't there either, have also never been to Catalans away, and really couldn't care less about some scrapping that had nothing to do with me. I haven't seen the game because I've been at a music festival in Blackpool all weekend, but the main thing that concerns me is yet another dreadful result to add to the recent list (and I have been at all of our defeats this season other than the two in Perpignan). I'm also concerned about the apparent injury to Austin and any bans our players might get after Saturday. A bit of scrapping in the stands at a match I wasn't at? Erm, no, sorry, not my problem.

That's a strange attitude, if you're a fan of the *game* - which you must be, unless you think that Warrington should just play themselves every week?

It's an embarrassing and shameful day when RL is in the news because of supporters fighting in the stands; regardless of who started it, what the players did on the pitch, or how the referee handled it - there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of thuggery. Both clubs should be facing serious investigation and if necessary, censure, along with criminal charges for any supporters involved who can be identified.

I don't care what your club loyalties are - we all have some responsibility to condemn this kind of behaviour.

Great attitude "not my problem" ???
Let's just ignore what happened and move on to next week then

More Brits abroad that cant handle their drink or, maybe it's ok to get lashed up and start fighting, just because you're in another country.
Are you not embarrassed that these hooligans attach themselves to your club and drag RL through the dirt, again ? not your problem, eh.

Why do we always blame alcohol for this sort of fan behaviour? It's a cop out! Plenty of us go to matches having had a few beers and can behave ourselves. The fact is, those causing the trouble are likely to be thugs with or without alcohol in their bloodstream....

Pictures on twitter of Ben Pomeroy goading the wire fans from a balcony above, which is odd given that he was a Warrington player himself only a short while ago!

Kenny Edwards not only running into the brawl but jumping in head first - another Catalans player follows shortly with a similar action - disgraceful.

Also hardly surprised to see Sam 'V-sign' Tomkins and Micky McIlorum involved , both have significant previous that should be taken into account when deciding the size of their bans. RFL/SL (IMO) need to make a big statement about not tolerating this sort of thuggery, against players of both teams.

What happened off the pitch was entirely separate, but in the eyes of the media both happenings will be conflated - not good for the reputation of the game IMO - up there with Ben Flower and Hull fans pulling up the sticks.

Nothing like digging up the past, that was only 19 years ago.

To get on top of the issue of crowd violence, custodial sentences!
