The funniest thing I've read on Twitter is gareth hock saying LH deserved it. That says a lot.

watched the highlight of incident on BBC sport website. Flower definitely starts it all with a swinging arm to the back of Hohaia's head when he chases the high kick which knocks Hohaia to the ground, to which he reacts to.

Hohaia doesn't appear to block Flowers run...this to me was a ploy by Wigan to rattle Saints only recognised Half back.

But on the flipside of Linekar and Owen you have Joey Barton, a right little skidmark of a 'professional' sportsmen, says it all that he praised the first punch and feels sorry for Flower.

Actually seen a couple of people say they feel sorry for Flower as he'll feel ready bad and it was just a moment of madness.......not seen anyone say they feel sorry/bad for Hohaia. His first final over here in England and it lasted two minutes and even though his side won he probably won't even remember much of tonight's celebrations.

Would imagine that sort of talk could land him in trouble. That might be a pain to his next club, him being banned at the beginning of next season.

Should RLFans be renamed the 'FlexWheeler sexually aroused at Wigan's woes' forum for tonight?

Probably right about Lineker but Owen is widely reviled in football as being egotistical, selfish and thouroughly unlikeable.

I'm not a big football person really, but I don't recall him ever really conducting himself poorly on the field, even if he has got a big ego.

Some might look at this as being harsh but I think it's fair. When are the Rugby League going to stop persisting with this fantasy expansion. If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! If Hohaia was a bigger man he would have knocked Flower out and broken his jaw. He didn't deserve to be punched on the ground, but he definitely deserved the first punch which knocked him out and should have also been sent off.

Maybe he should have thought about that before he sprinted 20 years to elbow Ben Flower in the head.

I am a big fan of football. Ask any Newcastle fan about him and they will go from flash to bang in about a millisecond. Owen missed nearly an entire season due to being made of balsa wood, whilst on ridiculous wages at Newcastle. He then went to the workd cup and lasted 90 seocnds before he did his ligaments and was out for a further 8 months (he had not recovered from his prevous injury and was a huge risk). In his umpteenth autobiography he asks the question about goint to the world cup and his own response to the question of whether he would go and do it the same was yes!!! Man U fans can't believe he stole a wage packet there for 3 years and his proudest moment on a footy field? Winning a premier league winners medal for his ten appearances that season, of which most were substitute appearances.

Beleive me, he is a c0ck and his new gig as a co-commentator has earned him universal ridicule for being crap. yet he is narcissistic and has no shame gene so he doesn't care what you or I would think about him. this is, after all, a person who admits he has never, ever watched a film becasue they aren't real.

Well considering Flower hit him first then why not give some back?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Flower knocked Hohia to the floor with a head shot as he ran to follow the kick, thats why Hohia retaliated

No excuses for Flowers
