The point was a club off many years and tradition produced 3 players in that line up. Were as the ludites insist on a new club having a top class academy and enough homegrown players to supply a first grade international side.

Complete blinked double standards

Not sure why your getting involved in this, yes I saw the back handed compliment he gave the club, but my point was why include Wakefield and specifically that game when we were fighting for our SL existence without mentioning many other times when we had no choice because of horrific long term injuries when we had to play most of the home grown players.

And before you mention it was in reply to a Wakey fan's comment, Snowies opinion on expansion it is his opinion alone and perhaps not the opinion of all Wakey fans.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

I'm involved as its an open forum not a private message exchange.

Why Wakefield?

You could pick many teams don't take it personally. How many Featherstone players were homegrown in the final?

After all Wakefield had what 3? homegrown players in their 19 man squad for the last game v London?

And Wakefield are better than plenty of clubs at developing players.
I don't expect them to have any in the three years so why mention it in his comment

And your point against Wakefield is what exactly?, maybe it's because you think we don't have any home grown players to call on, or maybe it's because we chose not to play them in what turned out to be our most important game of the season.

My point isn’t specifically anti-Wakefield in fact I said they were better than plenty of clubs.

The point was that if a club that is better then plenty of clubs at developing players can only play 3 or 4 homegrown players in their most important game of the season it’s unreasonable to expect a new club to have homegrown players of the right standard in their squad.

I appreciate that may not have been Snowie’s intent with his message and so wasn’t really meant against him however that argument has been used consistently as a stick with which to beat Toronto despite the “heartland” clubs not having many homegrown players themselves.
Some Featherstone fans were quick to have a go at Toronto for this despite having only 4? in their team vs Toronto. Some Widnes fans also earlier in the year despite a similar amount of homegrown players.

How many players are playing the game that Wakefield and Featherstone have produced from their local areas? Whether they are specifically playing in a Wakefield of Featherstone jersey is a moot point imo.

If Toronto signs Sonny Bill Williams, and Gold Coast Titans half back Ryley Jacks (who is eligible for the Canadian national team), and one good NRL prop to replace Ashton Sims, then Toronto will have a good chance of making the Super League playoffs in 2020.

Joshua Reynolds of Wests Tigers is also available to play in the halves.

Here we have your 2019 prediction................. I think i will continue to ignore your tripe.

Castleford have no chance of making the top 5 without Lucas Gale. Even with him playing they will struggle to make the top 5.

It appears to many objective observers that the top 5 will be:

1. Warrington
2. St Helens
3. Catalans
4. Leeds
5. Wigan

Then:

6. Castleford
7. Huddersfield
8. Wakefield
9. Hull FC
10. Hull KR
11. London
12 Salford

Re: Toronto : Sun Oct 13, 2019 3:16 pm
I think this year proved that there is not a huge gap between most teams, so if Toronto can match the majority of teams they too could be 4 points from relegation or 4 points from the playoffs.

I can't see them being comfortably in the playoff position but anyone trying to call next season already would be a little bit foolish.
