Can't wait for the new fixtures to come out....never been to Leigh's new ground will be a new one to tick off the list .......................

Seriously though what the hell went wrong ? was it a case of Leigh weren't really that good after all and their fans got a little too giddy or we're they and did the players just bottle it ??

Bottled it against Hull KR, narrow defeat to Wakey, smashed by Salford (possibly wanting revenge for cup exit). By this point things were looking bleak, the defeat to Halifax took all the wind out of their sails.

It could have been very different if a) they had played smarter rugby against Hull and b) had a better bounce of the ball against wakefield.

I'm not sure how the drastic drop in central funding will affect them, I guess it depends on whether they had prepared budgets for both scenarios.

They might not have been good enough for SL but I think they are better than what they showed in the Middle 8's. Not the first team in sport to stumble when the weight of expectation is on them to deliver and they won't be the last.

Don't think they ever recovered from throwing away that HT lead vs HKR. If they'd have gotten the win there than I think the next 6 games would've turned out quite differently.

Coach, pure and simple. He's been found out several times before in the Championship playoffs and looks like he has been again in the Qualifiers. Unable to change tactics to suit the situation.

With hindsight he made a bad decision joining Salford (although his bank balance might say otherwise!). His time there has coincided with extremely bad management and a coach out of his depth.
For a player of Rangi's ability to end up in the lower leagues before his turns 30 is such as shame.
For his sake, I hope the move works out.
I can't imagine it will be long before he is asking to leave to return to SL. However, if he is happy playing in a mostly part-time league running around amateurs then he might stay

If he'd replaced Hock when he was losing the plot in that opener against HKR then they might have hung on for the win and it might have all been different from then on.

To all you Leigh fans banging on about how big Derek has discovered a way around the salary cap... Expect a booty slapping! The doc tried all ways possible to get around the cap and it didn't work! Massive head Derek thinks he's something special! I'd love superleague to deny Leigh a place in SL! IF they managed it! Don't forget these player failed and were massively inconsistent whilst at Salford. Is super Paul going to change that!? I think not!
