depending on where you look, altho most seem to point towards 12th march, rather then 3rd december. either way i think 91 is correct, making him 18 next month

Could be, but why would he say different? And that would mean he was playing for the Junior academy as a 15 year old (also scoring 30+ tries that year). But I have seen his birthday as March and December before and also as 90 and 91. I can see him being another Stanley Gene in 40 years time

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

According to the RFL's own regulations regarding the development of players. Saints have come top in terms of "club trained players"

Club trained players are players who are on the clubs register and were trained by that club for three years before that player reached the age of 21.

Saints have 14 of our 25 man squad in that category

Next are Leeds and Hull with 13
then
Wigan have 11
Bradford 10
Warrington 10
Castleford 7
Catalans 6
Quins 5
Wakefield 5
Salford 5
Huddersfield 4
Hull KR 1
Celtic 0

I think its interesting to note the performance of Quins and Catalans.
They are developing players as well or better than a number of the traditional heartland clubs.

Hull KR's performance on the development front is pathetic, and is in stark contrast to the excellent work of Hull FC.

Do you have a link?
Or a list of the players that have been included / excluded.

Cheers

Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Good for Saints, at least they're champions of something.

yes it's disappointing from a Hull KR point of view but given we haven't had the cash to match HFC signing the cream of the Hull jnr crop for 10 years not surprising. Now we are back on even pegging judge us in 3 years. Don't be surprised to see Hull's reducing and HKR's increasing. (Hopefully they will both be increasing though!)

To be fair, thats rubbish. There are tons of clubs in the Hull area and only two clubs. Compare that to West Yorkshire and also the other side of the Pennines where you have tons of SL clubs, and also tons of clubs that are in the lower leagues.
Hull KR fans often use the Hull FC excuse to cover up their terrible, crap excuse of an academy over the recent years and its boring

I agree with you here... Look at Leeds for example, yes they sign the best players from the local area but they also scout the surrounding areas and beyond. Just signed a kid from Cumbria last week plus Watkins is a Manc. KR should be scoutimg England... not just Humberside.

Good point. For example, here at Hull we have a trio of brothers, all from Fev. Also got someone from London in the team as well now

I wish everyone would read bramleyrhino's post two or three times just to get it through some thick skulls

Mr bramleyrhino speaks a lot of sense.

Hull KR's attitude to youth development was typified when they lobbied for a change in the overseas regulations.

No matter which way you look at it, Stanley Gene is not "the future" of the British game.
