| Quote SmokeyTA="SmokeyTA"3 from 3 with 3 titles in 5 years says yeah, we can afford a luxury like Buderus, im not sure which British player he is blocking the progression of considering McShanes involvement would be limited regardless of buderus
whatever helps you justify signing players not good enough for the NRL because survival is all your club is capable of is fine with me,
as long as there are clubs like wakefield with neither the infrastruture, ambition, or potential to challenge us, the easier it is for us to carry on winning these titles'"
Hmmm
It's an interesting viewpoint.

I don't know about his general fitness throughout his career but the bicep tear came after we had signed him, either way things haven't started off great.

When i posted about him beeing likely to be injured i wasnt slaging off the signing, more warning some fans that they might only see him for a limited number of appearances, quite frankly even though its leeds i want to see him play and see just how well he can cope with sl.

| Buderus has been quite injury prone over the past few years however...
He is still a great player and leader, personally I beleive he is a better hooker then Cameron Smith who has been blessed with some great forward packs at the storm, maroons and kangaroos. Buderus is the type of hooker who can lift the pack and one competitive . If you get some decent game time out of him, he will be one of the better buys that SL has picked up in a while. Definately not a hack, and his best days are probably now past him but he still could have one or two seasons left in him before he is over the hill.
Playing at a winning club like the Rhinos without origin and the intensity of the NRL should prolong his career.

...that'll be Ben Kaye then.....just cos Leeds let him go doesn't expunge their responsibility.

McShane is a better prospect anyway. Plus Kaye was a disruptive influence in the dressing room apprently.

well im not sure quins or the rfl would be happy if we played Ben Kaye,
it pretty much expunges all our responsibility to him because we can in no way affect his progression now he plays for a different team,
and Kaye would have gone regardless of Buderus, if we hadnt brought Buderus in another hooker would have come in, Kaye was going anyway

'" Fair enough, Buderus is a modern great. Its not like they're paying some nobody a fortune. He's being paid relative to his status in the game, which he's earned over his career.
Having a player of the experience and stature of Buderus at the club will benifit all the players, whther he's on the field every week or not.
