SL Attendances

Round 1 - 10.38% increase

8.52% increase if you were to accept the officially reported Hull FC attendance of 10,178 in Round 1 rather than the unofficial and highly suspicious attendance of 11,400 which you chose to go with instead.

You need to be consistent in the way you select which attendances are to be used and which are to be ignored. Applying an alleged official Catalan home attendance of 8,500 in Round 3 whilst ignoring an official Hull FC home attendance in Round 1 of 10,178 might otherwise be indicative of a cherry-picking agenda on your part.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

To be fair I've no idea what you used as your data last year???

When Saints put out 2 crowds, you would have had to have picked one too.

I think this one needs to be down sized to 6300. It seems to be the one the superleague website are going with now.

For the time being, my total figures do include that 6,300 figure (which is also suspicious) only because I've seen no report or link to 8,500 (or any other alleged attendance) for that particular fixture. Perhaps Catalans and Bradford could engage in a fight to the death with the survivor claiming ownership of 8,500?

Could you provide a link to that suspicious attendance of 8,500?

Bradford Bulls also appear to be linked to a suspicious attendance of 8,500 depending on which official page on their official website you choose to believe.

Hi,
The only indication I have seen from the Dragons regarding the crowd vs Leeds is on the end of the highlights video on their YouTube channel (are links still banned here) which stated 8,500. I usually take figures from the club before anything else, and this is all I have found from the Dragons behalf.

I'm willing to change if I can find an official figure?

5,291 at Widnes tonight, 250 or so down on the equivalent fixture last year which is acceptable given the Thursday night TV timeslot.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Still poor though considering they were pulling in close to 4,000 playing a comparable local club ( Leigh ) in the Championship also on thursday nights a few years back, especially considering their impressive start

Kinda agree,, their crowds seem to be stagnating rather than growing. The 8k they got for their first game back in SL vs Wakefield showed that the potential is there..

They did not have an outstanding season last year. So it could be a hang over from that, but given their table topping exploits you would hope the club could capitalize on that sooner rather than later.

Get em in whilst your winning!

Neither did 80% of SL clubs, and there is the problem, constant stagnation of clubs stuck in the ' never going to win anything, nothing to play for ' middle to bottom of a competition does not encourage growth, then you have the fallen ' Giants ' whose loyal fans are now abandoning them like rats on a sinking ship,

Couple that with a glass ceiling for 2 nd tier and you slowly erode away fans interest
