In my teenage years, I used to play quite a bit of 'Championship Manager' on the computer. Just to make things easier, I would invent another manager and 'take over' Man Utd. This had a number of benefits: 1) If any of my players turned out to be rubbish, I could 'buy' them as the Man Utd manager, giving me more money at Leeds Utd for the wages of other players. 2) If I couldn't afford a player, I'd 'buy' him for Man Utd and then at a much cheaper rate make the transfer from Man U to Leeds. Sometimes it was worthwhile buying good young players and leaving them at Man U for a while, a kind of "feeder team" before I brought them to Leeds if and when they were good enough. 3) I could reley on 6 points every season, with a big scoreline to boot. 4) IT WAS CHEATING.
Comparing SL to championship manager. I've heard it all Now. Who's going to he Man U? Salford or Bradford?
You think Brian Noble or Franny Cummins will tell their teams to "take it easy"
Was it cheating when Wigan played their second team against Widnes two years a go?
I'm a bit worried one of his brothers or sisters might want to buy Cas! On a serious note, it does set a precedent of allowing one family to own more than one club, so in essence he (or someone else with lots of money) could essentially 'buy' the sport by purchasing 6 clubs (the owners of Bradford, London, Hull KR, Cas and Wakefield could probably not refuse a substantial offer). Added to Salford there is a danger of a complete monopoly.

Saints got in a lot of trouble and fined for sending a second team to play Bradford ... In fact it brought in the 19 man squad rule! You lot seemed to think it was cheating given the angry response you all had at the time!

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! What has this got to do wiv anything?
Anyway, Brisbane and Melbourne were owned by the Murdoch family until last yr, when Rupert sold his shares in the mighty Storm. Look if ya don't wanna get relegated, win more than you lose then you have nothing to worry about. There's so much scrutiny on matches it'll be obvious if Salford throw the match, they say they love the sport, so do the plyers and coaches, therefore they don't want to be involved in throwing a match. Get Mandy in.

Wow... We've gone from discussing the possibility of Mandy Koukash owning her own club outright, to the Koukash family maybe buying 6 clubs. Jesus christ.
I thought Koukash was going to buy Swinton and Oldham Athletic.I thought it be more fun and a challenge for the loaded Koukash to buy a Championship club and get promoted. Just like football manager on the computer.haha. Leigh and Halifax would love a Koukash.

Ok, you (amongst others) obviously struggle with analogy. My points are: 1) If Mr & Mrs Koukash own 2 clubs, they can offoad under-performing players from Salford to Bradford to free up salary cap space at the club they want to be more successful. 2) Young players can be brought to Bradford for development before been 'promoted' to Salford if they are good enough, simply turning Bradford into a feeder club. 3) If Salford need 2 points to finish in the play-offs, who do you think will win? 4) It's cheating.

He was on his way and then saw Timmy Street in the carpark and decided never to go anywhere near Leigh again, nor think about Leigh, mention Leigh, or acknowledge it in any way.

This simply won't happen. It's jut fantasy land. You could use the same example with Leeds & Wakefield. GH could of course throw their game against Wakefield so his missus is still chief exec at an SL club. Of course it doesn't happen. Fans, players, coaches aren't thick. You really think Franny Cummins would allow the above to happen?? You think fans of Salford would pay to be the others B team?
