41-0 . Mc Namara must be under pressure now surely. On paper Catalans have a decent squad , do they get a bigger salary cap than the rest of SL , they used to didn’t they ?.
I believe the salary cap for Catalans has always been the same as other clubs, but converted into euros, so the weakened pound will mean they have more euros to spend now than a few years ago.
I think Steve McNamara may now be on borrowed time.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
Poor Jean.....Catalans and Toulouse being beaten...in fact, being well beaten by heartland teams on the same weekend. No doubt that these two will be meeting in August/September......if it doesn't fill the stadium it's played in it will expose the "French expansion" for the farce that it is......even more so if they meet twice with the second game being for a place at the top table. Catalans just don't seem interested as a "team".......their owner showed more backbone last week with his rant about bent referees. Toulouse were shown to be wea up the middle and the likes of Huddersfield will steamroll them in the 8's.......
Interesting that Huddersfield and Catalans now have exactly the same points difference. Both will need to improve if they happen to come across the Toronto Wolfpack in the middle 8’s.
That’s far from certain at this stage. If either of them do manage to turn their fortunes around, they are only 2 wins behind 8th place, which is currently occupied by financially stricken Salford, who may need to sell more players to stay afloat.

If Toronto are serious about SL, then they need to be buying NRL quality players and top SL players......playing Leigh/Salford rejects was OK for the third tier and is just about cutting it in the 2nd, but if they don't want to yo-yo, then they need to build a star studded squad.....

Recent signings seem to have been decent?
Gareth O'Brien, Darcy Lussick & Chase Stanley are all handy signings.
Catalan announce the signing of ex Leigh Centurions scrum half Josh Drinkwater until the end of the season.
Oh my word Jean, another player that has been on the payroll at "Lowly Leigh" to join the Mighty Catalan Dragons, who would have thought a lowly "insert the many derogatory phrases about Leigh you have made" team would have the quality players to wear the shirt of the superstar laden team?
