No doubt and it fits in with the whole mindset he's been instilling in the team from what the players have said. That he makes them believe they are the best and can win any game, so Like I said it fits with his ethos.

Bennett openly admitted he knew nothing of makinson before Denver. Shows how much research he put into his job.

Anyhow I always thought makinson was a crabbing show pony. The lad has completely changed my mind on him he has toughened up a whole heap and is more direct with his running now. For me the England shirt is his to lose now

If it doesn't work out and he starts being disruptive, Chester just drops him and plays either Reynolds, Hampshire or Miller.

It’s a shrewd signing imo.

With the length of contract meaning he won’t be on a lot too.

Chester has done enough so far on a tight budget to prove he knows what he’s doing.

He's never been a "crabbing show pony" for Saints. Bar the 2018 grand final he has always been superb

Meanwhile back on thread.....

Salford

Released - Kriss Brinning (Injury), Gavin Bennion (crap!)

Brinnjng is a massive shame. Looked fantastic in 2017 but had a serious neck injury which completely wiped out last season. With Salford already having 3 hookers on the books and Watson having to cut the cloth accordingly he's been released. Hopefully the lad gets himself fit and playing again as along with Leerning at Hudds he was one of the most exciting emerging #9's. Would love to see him return at some point.

Bennion is just generally bobbins and likely to end up back in the Championship. No great loss as rarely made the match day squad and we'll save on wages (tho can't imagine he'd have been on much).
