Celtic Crusaders started in NL2 with an amalgamation of welsh conference sides. The Irish conference needs to be up to providing the players for a NL2 side.
The (then) Broncos (now Quinz) used to play on the road games while their home pitch was being re-surfaced. Catalans are playing two on-the-road games this year, though they will be in France/Spain, not Ireland.
I don't see why there couldn't be some games taken on the road, except that currently this is being done, "en masse" to Scotland.
Maybe the big trip to a new venue could be replaced by an on-the-road round in a few years, but I can't see the two happening in the same year - who will go to scotland, France and Dublin all in one year?
