All this argument about appealing to the kids is ridiculous. If the only way your kid can engage with the fine sport of rugby league through the postering of some person in a mascot costume personifying a superficial brand, then good luck to the human species.
Personally, in the case of Wakefield. I think it's abhorrent the way they tainted one of the most famous and traditional names in British RL, and if we can't teach or at least convey the passion of tradition and heritage to our children, then forget it.
And to a degree, all this Wildcats, the Jungle, Warriors, etc... is probably insulting to most children. I know myself not being the brightest kid in the world would have been.
