And that argument has been done to death. Castleford is a town in its own right, end of. It has nothing to do with Wakefield apart from being in the same district.

Cas is roughly the same distance away from Leeds but we're not a small town in Leeds.

Not bleating Fully just stating facts, Castleford is a small Town in Wakefield, check your post code it starts WF, you are a Wakefield resident and should be proud of belonging to such a historic City, Doomsday book and all that.

Suggest you check what a postcode stands for on the Royal Mail. Nothing to do with location, just nearest Royal Mail Distribution Centre, i.e. in this case it's Wakefield.

Places in Norfolk have a Peterborough postcode. Doesn't mean it's in Peterborough does it?

I've got no problem with Castleford having a bit of identity, but like Hunslet, they are part of a bigger City! People from Hunslet will say they are from Hunslet but no one would deny that Hunslet is in Leeds!

Cas is in Wakefield and only you rugby league prejudice prevents you from being a proud Wakefield resident, I can understand that mate.

Now you're just taking it to extremes!

Castleford is looked after by Wakefield Council, their municipal services are provided by Wakefield, they are Governed by Wakefield council, they are a ward of Wakefield, they have WF postcodes and so on and so on.....

We aren't talking about some Village miles away from its parent City here, Castleford is one of the small subsidiaries of Wakefield, I don't see the issue other than Club rivalry. I have family that live in Cas who have no rugby league tainted prejudices and they'll openly say that Castleord is a small Town in the wider City of Wakefield.

I have no gripe with Tigers fans who want to be seen as separate from the parent City of Wakefield but that's just fan rivalry.

My post code is EN yet i live in Hertfordshire and Enfield is Middlesex, Chesterfield have a Sheffield postcode two different counties. There are plenty of other examples but lets stop here and prevent thread drift.
