4 of the 17 taking up Quota spots, I can’t see who they’re meant to sign. They’ll need 10+ surely?

At Leeds we’re still apparently expecting 27 arrivals and 14 departures according to the In The Know crowd led by Frosties. Although he’s already been wrong about Crosby signing and Cuthbertson and Parcell departing.

Well offering players out to other SL clubs has backfired now Merrin has turned his back on the deal!

here's a bit of a lowdown on the garbage he's spewing....

Chamberlain and Burke played half of last season with us so aren't exactly "Ins"
Weller went to Widnes in the same deal so isn't an "Out"
Brinning was injured all last season and we have 3 hookers in the squad (Wood, Tomkins & Lussick) so plenty of cover.
Bennion played a couple of games and spent most of last season on loan or outside the 17.
Levy - see Bennion
Littlejohn was nowhere to be seen the last few months of the season as he was dropped (many would argue he was nowhere to be seen when he was in the side as well )
Olpherts is staying put as far as I know.

So that leaves Burgess, Tasi, Lannon & Kopczak....
Kopczak will be a big miss and gutted he's going. Great prop and wish him all the best at Wakey, we really need a replacement and Amor has been mentioned (no idea if any truth)
Lannon improved a great deal last season and Burgess was steady but we have the likes of Dan Murray and Ben Nakubuwei who will get more game time with them leaving.
Tasi wasn't the same player as he was first time round for us but still we'll need to get someone in to fill the void (Adam Walker has been rumoured)

So basically we're a couple of props and maybe a second rower short. Our backline looks stronger than last season of the couple of names we're strongly linked with come in. I fully trust Ian Watson & Ian Blease to come up with the goods and bring in the bodies we need to be competitive.

Levy is the perfect example of believing your own hype too soon. He was absolutely unplayable for Saints academy who have their own blueprint to get the academy stars ready for superleage. From what I believe he thought he was too good for this blueprint

Not really - those players are not good enough if you have aspirations to be a top 5 club

Yes I agree, I think Sinfield’s been pretty poor in the way he’s handled things so far.

Saleslim, how many players with Super League experience do Salford have? How is the squad not smaller and weaker after releasing a load of players and signing nobody?

Spot on. For all the criticism of the Leeds team the names rumoured to be offered out Cuthbertson, Parcell and Garbutt, the first two have previously been Dream Team selections and the other one of best metre making props in the league. This under the previous coach who was deemed poor by many Leeds fans, if he could get that out of them and make them key parts of GF winning teams then why can’t the new super dooper better coach do it and more, instead of wildily chasing unrealistic targets who don’t want to come with silly money?
