Nice to see so many Cas fans wishing us well with the PI, you know, for the good of the game and all that.

That only applies when ones own club is not affected.

It isn't - the outcome of the PI has absolutely no bearing on their own stadium plans.

I shouldn't be surprised really - even the CT Chairman has added his support to the scheme's only statutory objector, so I suppose that sets the tone.

Considering it's been rejected as housing in the new LDF, you're talking ballcocks.

Err no it hasn't. It is classed as special policy area, so housing is very much a possibility.

All jargon to me but this is from the same piece and kind of suggests it could be used for either but has been earmarked for housing....

Special Policy Areas as mixed use developments will meet a proportion of the district's housing and employment land requirements.

The purpose of the Special
Policy Area is the
regeneration of the north
eastern parts of Castleford.
The Special Policy Area now
incorporates housing
developments sites formerly
referenced N230i Bus Depot,
Wheldon Road; N42 Land
North of St Andrews Road;
N101 Castleford Tigers
Ground, Wheldon Road;
N115 Land at Pemberton
Drive; N143 Land at Saxon
Way; N151 Former C6
Solutions site; N152 Former
Fryston Colliery; N175 Land
at Park Dale; N177 Wheldale
Farm; N178 Stansfield Road;
N215 Land at Healdfield
Road; and N217i Nestle site
Wheldon Road.
incorporates employment
sites formerly referenced
N117 Former Wheldale
Colliery (B2, B8) and N161i
Land south of Wheldon
Road, Castleford (strategic
rail-freight).
Development will only be
permitted in flood zones 3a
and 3b parts of the site
where it is strictly in
accordance with PPS25. Key
areas of the site are
considered to meet the
sequential and exception
tests.
The site is located within the
Housing Growth Point area
and helps to meet the
district's housing requirement
in accordance with the
adopted spatial development
strategy, and Core Strategy
policies CS 1 and, in relation
to proposed housing, CS 3
.

Sir Rods written evidence to the PI:-

"My experience and expertise tells me that I will be able to procure support for the funding of the stadium and operational costs in a number of ways. I will seek grant funding support from avariety of sources via local government, local organisations and communities, local and national charities, regional, national and European funding schemes. TheCouncil is contributing £2m to the Trust which would be paid by the Trust toYorkcourt towards the construction costs of the stadium. The Trust will also seek to secure other funding support from the Sports Lottery Fund and the Football Trust"

Fully funded? :THINK:

Nice to see you take such a keen interest in the intimate details of all this. I can just imagine you examining the minutae of every submitted document by candlelight, salivating over every perceived weakness and exploiting any semantics to post some groundbreaking expose on here. Anybody would think you worked for Leeds City Council. :WHISTLE:
