We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: World Cup Ticket Sales : Thu Sep 19, 2013 12:00 pm
Ah there is nothing wrong with William, but his calculator has gone a tad rusty since the league campaign finished. And the playoffs don't take up that much time to calculate.

Of course discussion boards are more than about simple facts. It's about expressing an opinion where facts are missing or don't tell the full story.

I'm sure once the games are played the attendances will be out there for us all to see.

If there was a 6 monthly update, someone would want it monthly. If there was a monthly update someone would want it weekly, if there was a weekly update someone would want it daily, if there was a daily update then someone would want updating everytime a ticket was sold.

I'm sure I read that they are not going to be putting out regular ticket updates, it will be just as and when they feel it's needed.

Euro '96 football tournament was a huge success, yet only the final and games involving England and Scotland sold out ( 8 out of 31 games ).

The other semi at Old Trafford had only 43k there ( 12k empty seats ). A QF at Villa Park had only 26k out of 40k ! Nobody will regret going to games, but some people may feel like they "missed out" on a great event once it's all over !

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

The RLWC team have saved the bulk of their budget for the last month or so before the final. A LOT more marketing and advertising will be done before Cardiff and then the main seller for the semi final and final will be the rest of the tournament.

Many of the smaller games have sold really well including near sell-outs at a few grounds.

England games will be pretty much sell-outs and the big events seem to be playing well.

How much of a boost would it be for rugby league to have England LIVE on BBC at Cardiff, Wembley and Old Trafford in front of sell-out crowds? Because thats what the media and your average fan will see. For once we might get some profile.

We MUST get to the final, it would do huge things for RL in the UK.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Well, the last of mine turned up this morning, so there'll be at least one person at Cardiff, the two Wrexham games and the final.

None of mine have arrived so far but there's plenty of time I suppose. I'm waiting for 47 tickets spread over 7 games for a group of us.

Maybe they're sending them out in area order.

I agree with you. Not only will we good exposure, but, hopefully, we will get high class exciting games and with the RU internationals also on view, the general public will get to see what we all already know, i.e. that out game with expansive handling, non stop action and many tries is a far better spectacle than the line out, scrum resets, penalty goals and aimless kicking borefest that characterises RU.

All but 4 of mine have turned up, doesn't seem to be any pattern to them.

The reticence of the organisers to actually announce numbers is alarming to say the least.....all we've ever been told of 40% of the 500k target had been shifted and 120k of those to non-traditional RL areas.

Do other governing bodies announce actual figures? Genuine question.
