There was a fair chunk of that about ins and outs so it may be ok? Just a slight deviation whilst number 6 smelt the coffee.

For every Jarred Hickey there is a David Fifita.

Leeds seem to be spending some money, I wonder if this money was made available to BM for squad improvements?

It clearly wasn’t but the theory from some Leeds fans is the rather far fetched “it was there they just couldn’t be bothered to use it.”

With at least another signing expected it also brings up the likely scenario that some Leeds fans suspected the last few years that Leeds weren’t at the full cap. Hetherington claimed to be but look at the squad in 2015 and the squad we’ll have in 2019....now convince yourselves that the squad of 2017-2018 were costing them the same as those on the salary cap.

Leeds recent times don't seem to have spent big on their imports? Of course they haven't had to with the class English players brought through. Only Donald and Buderus came in as real top notch signings that I recall? Lauititi Moon Cuthbertson did well but not in league of the 2 lads brought in now.Think they need a few more but will be interesting to see how they go?

We had the likes of Webb and Eastwood too brought in with the aforementioned Buderus and Lauittiti and they was brought into a stronger squad who didn’t have anywhere near a season like 2016 or see several legends depart. The signing of Webb really sums it up, when Richie Mathers left we went out and recruited Webb, when Hardaker left in 2016 we gave the inexperienced and unproven Golding the number 1 shirt instead of recruiting outside for a pivotal position even though we had all this money sat around.

Will he really, makes you wonder why he's left the NRL doesn't it

Can't wait to see you trying to still prove your point at the end of next season if he flops like Jake Mamo and David Mead have in recent years - just to name a few.

You're utter obsession with past it Aussie - and lets be straight - every Aussie in SL is not good enough for the NRL otherwise there is no reason for them to leave - please don't insult us by claiming it's money, the NRL is awash with cash for those who are good enough.

Not saying that most of these ex NRL are poor, far from it in some case but your ridiculous hyperbowl around every 'name' player signed for SL is both laughable and sad.

Come back in twelve month time and if he's in the dream team and MOS i'll gladly eat my words.

29 year old (past it) Trent Merrin has played 204 NRL games including winning an NRL Grand Final. He’s played 13 state of origin games and for Australia 7 times. However the big question is, is he good enough for Super League. The real test will come when he faces the likes of Salford, Wakefield and London, will he be upto the job.

A very middle of the road utility forward with limited skills that plays a steady game in a comp that plays a conservative style. He won't adapt to SL.

They've just bought another Ferres.

He's only famous for punching above his weight when he pulled his ex surfing chick.

Jarred Hickey was a very BIG signing for you guys, shame it was just his appetite for Big Mac's and his belly that was big

Trent Merrin will go well in SL and is a fantastic signing for the Rhinos and the SL competition IMO......He's certainly no Jarred Hickey though

Actually you’re wrong. It’s Shane Tronc I’m thinking of. He was Brilliant for us but only played about 10 games. His wife just couldn’t settle.

There is so much more to it than people think. It’s not like the old days when players could just pop over in the off season.

It’s a big commitment and one far better suited to young unattached players in my experience.

For once I agree with you. How many of the Marquee players brought over since the rule came into effect have seen out their contracts? If you are a club looking for stability, its a risk bringing over overseas players these days because usually within a season, they want to be back home

Yeah we had a player with a similar CV called Anthony Tupou and no he wasn’t - you’re so easy.

It's hard to say which imports will thrive over here but Merrin looks a class apart. We had Joel Clinton who was on a big wage but contributed nothing then we had the likes of Vella and Weyman who were pure class. Think Minichello arrived at Hull with fans not overly impressed but he's been very good for them. Hurrell and Merrin will go well at Leeds. Not sure there is much else other than Watkins that look anything like top 4 players?

How do you know they will go well do you have a crystal ball.

You seem easily impressed by reputation, thought you might have learned by now.

The crucial signing for Leeds is Furner, if he can’t lift the TEAM then frankly it doesn’t matter how bigger name signings he makes.
