| Quote GIANT DAZ="GIANT DAZ"Obviously a big part of the problem now is there is a Pro Rugby League team playing in the sport's elite competition in London - they're called Harlequins and play at Twickenham!!! - now how many people in and around London would hear the Quins are playing at the Stoop and know it was a Rugby League game ?.
IMO they need to have London in their name somewhere - they need the people of London to feel like they have a club of their own to support rather than a gimmick part of a famous Rugbu Union club in the shadow of the Mecca of rah-rah.'"
and as we all know there are plenty of aussies in london .. some of these people must be missing rugby league??there must be a way to promote the quins to the ockers in london

| The trouble is that if you went down twickenham high street and stoped a random man/woman they would struugle to name at least 1-3 players. The profile of your club is too small they need to put posters advertising games in shops/pubs to make people aware of you.

your not wrong actually - get a nice little purpose built Rugby League stadium in the heart of London , that may help - there's a great big house thats hardly used next to Green park - knock that down and build it there and call it Buckingham Stadium

| Another thing is a lot of people in London don't even know there are 2 codes of rugby
When i tell them im a rugby fan they go on about the 5 nations score that they caught the end of on the news.
When i say 'no, i watch rugby league' the usual reply i get is
What ? there's more than one type of Rugby?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but level of attendance is not the be all and end all in terms of a place in Super League.
They beat our clubs on distance from another club for one...

| The impression I get is that the Quins need an identity - tagging on to QuinsRU isn't the answer, though I understand completely the reasoning behind their 'merger'. What is the likelihood of them actually getting in to London itself rather than flitting around Middlesex? That said, we all know London is basically a ton of smaller towns all jammed together, so is there a particular area with a strong amateur RL set up (South London Storm springs to mind?) and become representative of that district rather than trying to cover the entire South East?
Charlton Athletic are struggling financially these days, what say a permanent move back to the Valley with a chance to build a real, long-term identity?

There is very little in the city with the closest probably in zone 3 still some way out.
So a stadium in the north west of london would be a more sensible option.

| Its nothing to do with identity either. We have the best opportunity we have had for years playing as Harlequins but the people running the club aren't taking advantage. A move back to Charlton would do nothing whatsoever.
